COVID-19: Nigeria records 877 new cases, as cases exceed 150,000

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 877 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 150,246.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle on Thursday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 695 Coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 16 new deaths were recorded raising the nation’s death toll from the virus to 1,803.

The 877 new cases were recorded from 25 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 273 new infections followed by Kaduna-87 Rivers -58, Akwa Ibom -47, Ebonyi -47, Edo -46 and Ogun -46.

Other states with new cases include Abia-34, Imo-34, Kano-34, Oyo-26, Osun-22, Gombe-20, Ekiti -19, Cross River-15, FCT -15, Plateau -11, Enugu-9, Kebbi -8, Borno -7, Niger-6, Bayelsa-5, Nasarawa-4, Kwara-2, Katsina-1, and Sokoto-1.

Till date, 150,246 cases have been confirmed, 126,417 cases have been discharged and 1,803 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
