COVID-19: Nigeria records 89 new cases, total now 209,387
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 89 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 209,387.
The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Monday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 169 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 1 new COVID-19 related death was recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,838.
The 89 new cases are reported from 8 states of the federation.
Kaduna topped the day’s infections chart with 34 new cases followed by Abia with 22 new cases.
Other states with new cases include Delta-11, Kano-8, Rivers-8, Bauchi-4, Jigawa-1 and Zamfara-1.
Till date, 209,387 cases have been confirmed, 197,312 cases have been discharged and 2,838 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
