COVID-19: Nigeria records 964 new cases, total now 195,052
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 964 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 195,052.
The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Saturday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 2,784 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 49 new COVID-19 related death was recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,495.
The 964 new cases are reported from 19 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 456 new infections followed by Ondo-180, Edo-66 and Rivers-62.
Other states with new cases include Niger-26, Akwa Ibom-25, Ekiti-22, Kwara-22, Oyo-22, Kaduna-17, Delta-14, Benue-12, Gombe-9, Plateau-9, FCT-8, Jigawa-5, Ogun-4, Bayelsa-2, Nasarawa-2 and Bauchi-1.
Till date, 195,052 cases have been confirmed, 182,463 cases have been discharged and 2,544 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
