Don't take God's grace for granted - Cleric

A cleric, Ven. Isaac Oyeneye, the dean Immanuel College of theology has admonished Christians not to take grace of God for granted in all their dealings.

Oyeneye gave the charge during the 175th anniversary of St Mary Anglican Church (Church of Nigeria) at the church premises in Osiele, Abeokuta.

He spoke on the theme " Amazing grace" with the anchor text taken from Joel 2:19-27 and Psalm 126.

He explained that grace is the free and unmerited favour from God. That we are still living today despite the trials and tribulations we faced on daily basis is by the amazing grace of God.

"It is a rare priviledge that the early church planters considered Osiele as a major outpost for propagating the gospel to the nation"

Ven Oyeneye further posited that for someone to be a partaker of the amazing grace, such person must accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and saviour. "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and i will give you rest -Matthew 11:28 "

In his homily, the royal father of the day and the traditional ruler of Osiele, Oba Williams Olowonyo charged reisdence and church members to always remember their source/ root and come home to contribute their quota to the development of the church in other for the church to continually maintain his place in the committee of churches.

The vicar, Venerable Dayo Awodun charged all church members and invited guests to always appreciate God for his faithfulness over their affairs.
