FCE-ABK matriculates 911 students, charges them against indiscipline

The Federal College of Education, Abeokuta has admitted 911 regular students to its various academic programmes for the 2023/2024 academic session.

In his charge to the newly admitted students at the matriculation ceremony on Friday, at the Aduke Maina hall, the College Provost, Dr. Rafiu Adekola Soyele urged them to be diligent, disciplined and dedicated to their studies.

He told the new students that the College has zero tolerance for cultism and other unethical behavior, pointing out that the visa between matriculation and graduation comprises hard work, dedication, discipline, and focus as well as knowing the purpose of coming to the college.

Giving the breakdown of students admitted into the various schools admitted therein, Dr Soyele said a total of 305 students into the School of Secondary Education, Arts & Social Sciences, 122 students were admitted into the school of Early Childhood, Primary & Non-formal Education and 164 students were admitted into the School of Secondary Education, languages

Others include 138 students into the School of Secondary Education Sciences, 182 students admitted into the School of Secondary Education, Vocational and 39 students into the College Sandwich programme.

Dr R.A. Soyele reiterated that Federal College of Education, Abeokuta (FCE-ABK) is committed to its vision of producing excellent teachers that are adequately equipped to handle contemporary educational challenges through dynamic teaching methodology that caters for our nation’s educational needs.

In his word, “I charge you to face your studies squarely to have gone through the golden opportunity of acquiring the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE). When the framework for the implementation of the dual mode is eventually approved finally for Federal Colleges of Education including our College which qualifies us for awarding degree along with NCE, it is going to be a big plus to all of you been matriculated today”  

I therefore admonished you to help sustain the signature of the college as the most peaceful, the most organized and the most disciplined tertiary institution in Ogun state.” Soyele added.
