Gov. Adeleke constitutes 100 member committee to resolve land disputes

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has constituted a 100 member land crisis resolution committee to proffer lasting solution to the incessant land disputes between the communities of Ifon, Ilobu and Erin Osun.

In a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi in Osogbo, each of the affected communities of Ifon, Ilobu and Erin will present 25 representatives each while the state government will be represented by 25 members while the state Government will equally be represented by 25 members.

The Ataoja of Osogbo land, Oba Jimoh Adetunji Olanipekun Larooye as the Chairman of the Committee while a retired judge of Osun State Judiciary and Chairman, Osun State Boundary Commission, Justice Moshood Adekunle Adeigbe, is to serve as the Co-Chairman.

Alimi further disclosed that Governor Adeleke put in place the Committee with a view to bringing a lasting end to the incessant land disputes among the three affected communities.

According to Kolapo Alimi, four other traditional rulers on the panel are; His Royal Majesty; Oba Abioye Oyebode, Olokuku of Okuku, His Royal Majesty; Oba Adams Iyiola Bamidele Yusuf, Oloba of Oba Oke, His Royal Majesty; Oba Adekeye Oyedare, Oloyan of Oyan and His Royal Majesty, Oba Akeem Ogungbamgbe, The Owaloko of Iloko-Ijesha.

Other members are drawn from the security operatives in the state, legal profession, Civil Society Organisation, and Chairman Nigeria Union Journalists, NUJ, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu.

The statement adds that the committee will be inaugurated by Governor Adeleke, on Tuesday, 28th of January, 2025.
