Oba MacGregor commissions health facility

As part of activities marking the 1st year coronation anniversary of Oba (Prof) Alexander Olusegun MacGregor, (MacGregor 1) the Olu of Ilawo, on Monday commissioned a primary health centre in Elegun-mefa, in Odeda Local Government area of Ogun state.

In his address, Oba Olusegun MacGregor disclosed that the state's ministry of health promised to post Community Health Extension Workers (CHEW) to the health post for effective running of the facility.

Oba Olusegun MacGregor further stated that he will be embarking on monthly health outreach to the various towns and villages that falls under Orile Ilawo.

'As we all know that this is an agrarian community, I will always strive hard to bring succour to the good people of Elegun mefa and all communities that makes up Orile Ilawo' We need to put security in place for unto wards progress of the health post. Oba MacGregor said.

In her welcome address, the immediate past Chairperson of Odeda Local Government, Dr (Mrs) Folashade Adeyemo commends the developmental drive of Oba MacGregor while also prevailing on the monarch to extend his kind gesture to other communities within the local govt area.

She further charged the people of Orile-Ilawo to make good use of the health post in their domain and give the people that will be working there all needed support by making the place habitable for them.

Supplements were donated to the health facility by Sygen Pharmaceutical while Evergreen foundation and the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria took charge of the testing and consultation exercise

In his goodwill message, the chairman of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Ogun state chapter Pharm. Adewale Adenugba who was ably represented by Pharm. Abiodun Adesina acknowledged Oba MacGregor's developmental strive while also promising to always work with the monarch for the uplifment of the communities.

The town chiefs ably led by the baale of Elegun-mefa also admonished the inhabitants to see the health facility as their own by safeguarding it and making meaningful contribution to the entire safety of the land.
