Ogun announces burial for late Awujale of Ijebuland

The Ogun State Government has announced that the burial of the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, will take place today, July 14, 2025.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi on Monday.

“The final rites will hold at 4 p.m. at Ogbagba Court in Igbeba, Ijebu-Ode.”

The State government also urged residents to “remember the late monarch’s family in their prayers” as the state prepares to bid farewell to a royal icon whose reign shaped the socio-economic and cultural development of Ijebuland and Ogun State at large.

The respected monarch passed away on Sunday, July 13, at the age of 91.
