Orile-Ilawo will witness rapid development during my time – Oba Macgregor
The Olu of Orile-Ilawo in Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State, Oba (Prof) Alexander Olusegun Macgregor has assured the sons and daughters of Orile Ilawo of rapid development in the kingdom during his reign.
Oba Macgregor stated this at his coronation ceremony held at the cultural Centre Abeokuta on Saturday.
Oba Macgregor, who also used the occasion to speak about his foundation, stated that he established the Macgregor Foundation to cater for indigent children from the area and had also organised free medical outreach for the aged in the community.
In a goodwill message at the reception held at Abeokuta Sports Club Hall, the National President, Ibadan Grammar School Old Students Association, IGSOSA, Mr. Dimeji Mako represented by the National, Social and Publicity Secretary, Mr. Akinyinka Akintola described Oba Olusegun Macgregor as a worthy old student who impacted lives both within and outside the country.
The coronation ceremony had in attendance the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Osile Oke Ona Egba, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso and other royal fathers within and outside the state.
Popular juju musician, Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey entertained guests at the reception which attracted people from all walks of life.
