Wale Edun did not propose N105,000 as minimum wage - Official

The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has refuted claim that the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Wale Edun, has proposed N105,000 in the new minimum wage template.

Edun had earlier in the day submitted a minimum proposal to President Bola Tinubu which has not been made open to the public yet.

The report that the Federal Government is proposing N105,000 as new minimum wage has gone viral.

Onanuga in an X post said the story being reported is false.

“The Honorable Minister of Finance and coordinating minister of the economy, Wale Edun has not proposed N105,000 minimum wage. The contrary story being disseminated is false,” he said.

Earlier, Edun submitted the minimum wage proposal template to the president, beating the 48 hours deadline he was given by the president to submit the proposal.
