Easter: Police command beefs up security in Lagos State
Lagos State Police Command ordered its men to step up patrols and other anti-crime strategies to protect lives and property during the Easter celebration.
Mr Hakeem Odumosu, the state police commissioner, said this in a statement by state police public relations officer CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi on Friday in Lagos.
Odumosu instructed the officers to implement the operation order prepared for the celebration by ensuring an adequate deployment of men in strategic locations.
“These places include worship centers, picnic parks and recreation arenas, as many recreation enthusiasts will come to celebrate Easter,” said the commissioner.
He, however, called on residents, especially fun-seekers, to be moderate in their celebration and to abide by the country’s laws without exception to COVID-19 protocols.
Odumosu also warned them to refrain from reckless driving and blatant violation of traffic rules and regulations, especially driving against the tide (one-way) and the BRT lanes.
“Police and other security personnel have been deployed throughout the state to enforce law and order,” he said.
