COVID-19: 31 inmates regain freedom in Ado Ekiti

The Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Ayodeji Daramola, on Wednesday released 31 inmates at the Ado Ekiti Corrrectional Centre.

Daramola in a statement, said the inmates were released in line with the Federal Government’s directive to prevent spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in correctional centres across the country.

He advised the released inmates to be law abiding citizens of the country and shun crime.

The Chief Judge who inspected the facility commended the Correctional officers for maintaining an hygienic environment.

In his remark, the Controller, Ekiti Correctional Center, represented by the Deputy Controller, Mr Patrick Esan appreciated the Chief Judge for his kind gesture and urged the beneficiaries to be of good character and law abiding citizens.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that with the development, 73 inmates have so far been released by the Chief Judge in the correctional centre in 2020.
