COVID-19: Nigeria records 1,064 new cases, total now 186,635

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 1064 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 186,635.

The NCDC disclosed this via its official facebook page on Saturday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 196 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 13 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,260.

The 1,064 new cases are reported from 9 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country recorded 776 new infections followed by Rivers-143 and Ekiti-49.

Other states with new cases include Kwara-33, Ogun-21, Benue-18, Oyo-13, FCT-5, Osun-4 and Yobe-2.

Till date, 186,635 cases have been confirmed, 168,320 cases have been discharged and 2,260 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
