COVID-19: Nigeria records 388 new cases, total now 187,023
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 388 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 187,023.
The NCDC disclosed this via its official facebook page on Sunday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 135 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 8 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,268.
The 388 new cases are reported from 11 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country recorded 166 new infections followed by Akwa Ibom-89 and Rivers-76.
Other states with new cases include Oyo-15, Edo-12, Benue-11, Delta-7, FCT-4, Ogun-4, Kaduna-2, Gombe-1 and Nasarawa-1.
Till date, 187,023 cases have been confirmed, 168,455 cases have been discharged and 2,268 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
