COVID-19: Nigeria records 1, 444 new cases, total now 110,387

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 1,444 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 110,387.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle on Sunday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 3,950 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged after receiving their second negative result while 15 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 1,435.

The 1,444 new COVID-19 cases were reported from 20 states and the Federal Capital Territory. (FCT)

Lagos the epicenter of the virus in Nigeria topped the days’ infection chart with 901 new cases followed by Plateau-136.

Other states with new cases include Kaduna-57, FCT-54, Ebonyi-53, Akwa Ibom-52, Nasarawa-32, Osun-29, Ogun-28, Imo-16, Oyo-16, Edo-15, Kano-14, Rivers-10, Ekiti-7, Borno-6, Abia-5, Benue-4, Yobe-4, Kebbi-3, and Anambra-2.

Till date, 110,387 cases have been confirmed, 89,317 cases have been discharged and 1,435 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
