COVID-19: Nigeria records 1,479 new cases, total now 105,478

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 1,479 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 105,478.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle on Thursday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 1,275 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged after receiving their second negative result while 23 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 1,405 deaths.

The 1,479 new cases are reported from 24 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

Lagos the epicenter of the virus in Nigeria recorded 697 new infections followed by FCT -201.

Other states with new cases includes Nasarawa -80, Plateau -74, Rivers -62, Edo -46, Adamawa -43, Osun -39, Akwa Ibom -35, Delta -31, Anambra -27, Oyo -24, Kano -21, Abia -19, Enugu -19, Ogun -18, Sokoto -12, Bauchi -7, Taraba -7, Ekiti -4, Gombe -4, Imo -4, Bayelsa -2, Jigawa -2, and Zamfara -1

Till date, 105,478 cases have been confirmed, 83,830 cases have been discharged and 1,405 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
