COVID-19: Nigeria records 111 new cases, as total exceed 60,000

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday confirmed 111 new cases of COVID-19 bringing total number of infections in the country to 60,103.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) shows that 97 patients were discharged from the various isolation centres across the nation after recovering from coronavirus.

Meanwhile 2 new COVID-19 related fatalities were recorded on Saturday increasing the country’s death toll to 1,115.

The 111 new cases are reported from 10 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Plateau recorded 32 new infections followed by Lagos with 23, FCT -15 and Osun -11.

Other states with new cases include Ogun -9, Oyo -6, Imo -4, Bauchi -3, Kaduna -3, Yobe -3 and Rivers -2.

Till date, 60,103 cases have been confirmed, 51,711 cases have been discharged and 1,115 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
