COVID-19: Nigeria records 116 new cases, total now 212,627

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 65 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 212,627.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Saturday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 65 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 3 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,905.

The 116 new cases are reported from 6 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Imo topped the day’s infections chart with 53 new cases followed by Plateau -30.

Other states with new cases include FCT -10, Kano -9, Kaduna -8, Lagos -3 and Rivers -3.

Till date, 212,627 cases have been confirmed 204,249 cases have been discharged and 2,905 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
