COVID-19: Nigeria records 125 new cases, total now 209,298

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 125 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 209,298.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Sunday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 59 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 33 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,837.

The 125 new cases are reported from 9 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).  

FCT topped the day’s infections chart with 45 new cases followed by Kaduna -34.

Other states with new cases includes Rivers -11, Lagos -10, Osun -10, Oyo -9, Jigawa -2, Edo -2, Kano -2, Plateau -1

Till date, 209,298 cases have been confirmed, 197,143 cases have been discharged and 2,837 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
