COVID-19: Nigeria records 376 new cases, total now 209,173

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 376 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 209,173.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Saturday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 659 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 35 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,804.

The 376 new cases are reported from 14 states of the federation.

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country topped the day’s infections chart with 215 new cases followed by Rivers-82.

Other states with new cases include Ondo-16, Imo-14, Plateau-12, Kaduna-10, Kwara-9, Ekiti-4, Bauchi-3, Delta-3, Kano-3, Sokoto-3, Nasarawa-1 and Oyo-1.

Till date, 209,173 cases have been confirmed 197,084 cases have been discharged and 2,804 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
