COVID-19: Nigeria records 133 new cases, total now 61,440

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday confirmed 133 new COVID-19 cases, bringing total number of infections in the country to 61,440.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 54 patients were successfully treated and discharged after recovering from the novel coronavirus while 2 new casualties were recorded pushing the nation’s death toll to 1,125.   

On the 18th of October 2020, 133 new confirmed cases and 2 deaths were recorded in Nigeria

The 133 new cases are reported from 8 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the nation recorded 90 new infections followed by Rivers -13.

Other states with new cases include FCT -8, Kaduna -8, Oyo -6, Ondo -3, Katsina -2, Nasarawa -2 and Plateau -1.

Till date, 61,440 cases have been confirmed, 56,611 cases have been discharged and 1,125 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
