COVID-19: Nigeria records 137 new cases, total now 207,616
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 137 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 207,616.
The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Saturday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 80 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 2 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,745.
The 137 new cases are reported from 8 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 46 new infections followed by FCT-35 and Kaduna-20.
Other states with new cases include Benue-13, Oyo-9, Kano-6, Rivers-6, Ekiti-1 and Nasarawa-1.
Till date, 207, 616 cases have been confirmed, 195,132 cases have been discharged and 2,745 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
