COVID-19: Nigeria records 269 new cases, total now 207,479

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 269 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 207,479.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Friday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 256 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 1 new COVID-19 related death  was recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,743.

The 269 new cases are reported from 15 states of the federation and the federal Capital Territory (FCT).

FCT topped the day’s infections chart with 89 new cases followed by Lagos - 54 and Benue -24.

Other states with new cases include Delta-17, Kano-15, Rivers-14, Gombe-13, Kwara-11, Bauchi-9, Plateau-8, Niger-7, Imo-3, Edo-2, Ekiti-1, Jigawa-1 and Nasarawa-1.

Till date, 207, 479 cases have been confirmed, 195,052 cases have been discharged and 2,743 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
