COVID-19: Nigeria records 147 new cases, total now 62,371

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 147 new cases of COVID-19, bringing total number of infections in the country to 62,371.

The NCDC disclosed this via its official twitter handle on Wednesday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) shows that 179 COVID-19 patients were successfully treated and discharged from various treatment centres while four (4) fatalities were recorded on Wednesday, pushing the nation’s death toll to 1,139.

The 147 new cases are reported from 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country recorded 82 new cases followed by FCT -20.

Other states with new cases include Rivers -9, Kaduna -8, Plateau -8, Benue -5, Edo -3, Kano -3, Nasarawa -3, Taraba -3, Ogun -2 and Bauchi -1

Till date, 62,371 cases have been confirmed, 58,095 cases have been discharged and 1,139 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
