COVID-19: Nigeria records 150 new cases, total now 62,521

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 150 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing total number of infections in the country to 62,521.

The NCDC disclosed this via its official microsite on Thursday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 154 patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres across the country while 2 new deaths were recorded pushing the death toll to 1,141.   

The 150 new cases are reported from 9 states of the federation.

Lagos the nation’s epicentre of the virus recorded 89 new infections followed by Rivers -19 and Ogun -11.

Other states with new cases include Bayelsa -9, Kaduna -8, Plateau -8, Taraba -3, Osun -2 and Delta -1

Till date, 62,521 cases have been confirmed, 58,249 cases have been discharged and 1,141 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
