COVID-19: Nigeria records 159 new cases, total now 210,295

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 159 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 210,295.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Saturday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 74 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 1 new COVID-19 related death was recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,856.

The 159 new cases are reported from 13 states of the federation.

Kaduna topped the day’s infections chart with 47 new cases followed by Enugu -44 and Benue -36.

Other states with new cases include Delta -10, Lagos -7, Plateau -5, Rivers -3, Nasarawa -2, Bauchi -1, Bayelsa -1, Edo -1, Jigawa -1 and Kano -1.

Till date, 210,295 cases have been confirmed 198,191 cases have been discharged and 2,856 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
