COVID-19: Nigeria records 176 new cases, total now 210,136

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 176 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 210,136.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Friday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 91 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 5 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,855.

The 176 new cases are reported from 11 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

FCT topped the day’s infections chart with 73 new cases followed by Plateau-25 and Rivers-20.

Other states with new cases include Kano-18, Lagos-15, Bauchi-9, Osun-8, Ekiti-3, Edo-2, Bayelsa-1, Niger-1 and Sokoto-1.

Till date, 210,136 cases have been confirmed 198,117 cases have been discharged and 2,855 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
