COVID-19: Nigeria records 162 new cases as total hits 62, 853

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 162 new cases of COVID-19, bringing total number of infections in the country to 62,853.

The NCDC disclosed this via its official twitter handle on Saturday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 245 patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres across the nation.

The 162 new cases are reported from 13 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Gombe recorded the highest number of cases infections with 54 new cases followed by FCT -35 and Lagos -26.

Other states with new include Ogun -12, Plateau -10, Rivers -10, Kaduna -4, Ekiti -3, Edo -2, Osun -2, Bayelsa -1, Imo -1, Ondo 1 and Oyo -1

Till date, 62,853 cases have been confirmed, 58,675 cases have been discharged and 1,144 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
