COVID-19: Nigeria records 111 new cases, total now 62,964

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 111 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing total number of infections in the country to 62,964.

The NCDC made this known via its microsite on Sunday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 115 patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres across the nation while two (2) fatalities were recorded pushing the nation’s death toll to 1,146.    

The 111 new cases are reported from 7 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus recorded 49 new infections followed by FCT -30.

Other states with new cases include Rivers -11, Plateau -10, Ogun -4, Kaduna -3, Oyo -3 and Osun -1.

Till date, 62,964 cases have been confirmed, 58,790 cases have been discharged and 1,146 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
