COVID-19: Nigeria records 167 new cases, total now 208,797
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 167 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 208,797.
The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Friday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 99 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 2 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,769.
The 167 new cases are reported from 9 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Rivers topped the day’s infections chart with 68 new cases followed FCT-43 and Lagos-24.
Other states with new cases include Plateau -10, Niger -8, Edo -5, Kano -4, Benue -2, Oyo -2 and Delta-1.
Till date, 208,797 cases have been confirmed 196,425 cases have been discharged and 2,769 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
