COVID-19: Nigeria records 226 new cases, total now 208,630
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 226 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 208,630.
The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Thursday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 203 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 6 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,767.
The 226 new cases are reported from 14 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
FCT topped the day’s infections chart with 73 new cases followed Plateau-34, Lagos-25 and Gombe-22.
Other states with new cases include Abia-16, Osun-13, Kano-7, Rivers-7, Ekiti-6, Kaduna-6, Oyo-6, Delta-5, Edo-3, Jigawa-2 and Nasarawa-1.
Till date, 208,630 cases have been confirmed, 196, 326 cases have been discharged and 2,767 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
