COVID-19: Nigeria records 17 new cases, total now 254,657

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 17 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 254,657.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Monday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 28 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result.  

The 17 new cases were reported from 4 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Imo topped the day’s infections chart with 8 new cases followed by Oyo -4.

Other states with new cases include FCT -2, Osun -2 and Kano -1.

Till date, 254,657 have been confirmed 249,199 cases have been discharged and 3,142 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
