COVID-19: Nigeria records 176 new cases, total now 57,613

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 176 new cases of COVID-19, bringing total number of infections in the country to 57,613.

The health agency (NCDC) disclosed this  via its twitter handle on Tuesday.

Data from the NCDC shows that 162 patients were discharged from the various Isolation centres across the country on Tuesday.

The 176 new cases are reported from 13 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Lagos the epic centre of the virus in Nigeria recorded the highest infections of the day with 73 new cases followed by Plateau -50 and FCT -17.

Other states with new cases include Rivers -8, Ondo -6, Niger -5, Ogun -5, Edo -3, Kaduna -3, Oyo -2, Bauchi -1, Bayelsa -1, Delta -1 and Nasarawa -1.

Till date, 57,613 cases have been confirmed, 48,836 cases have been discharged and 1,100 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
