COVID-19: Nigeria records 195 new cases, as death toll hits 1,100

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday confirmed 195 new cases of COVID-19, bringing total number of infections in the country to 57,437

Data from the health agency (NCDC) shows that 2 new deaths were recorded on Monday pushing the nation’s death toll to 1,100 while105 patients were discharged from the various isolation centres across the country.

The 195 new cases are reported from 10 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

Enugu recorded the highest number of infections with 51 new cases followed by Gombe with 40, Lagos -39 and Plateau -23.

Other states with new infections include FCT -15, Rivers -12, Kaduna -8, Ondo -3, Bauchi -2, Edo -1 and Ogun -1.

Till date, 57,437 cases have been confirmed, 48,674 cases have been discharged and 1,100 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
