COVID-19: Nigeria records 188 new cases, as total exceed 56,000
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday confirmed 188 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 56,017.
The health agency (NCDC) disclosed this via its official twitter handle, adding that one new fatality was recorded raising the death toll to 1,076.
The 188 new cases were reported from 18 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Lagos reported the highest number of infections with 47 new cases followed by Enugu 25 and Plateau 21.
Other states with new cases include FCT 14, Abia 11, Delta 10, Bauchi 8, Ondo 8, Kaduna 8, Ogun 6, Imo 5, Benue 4, Kastina 4, Taraba 4, Edo 3, Kwara 3, Oyo 3, Rivers 2 and Yobe 2.
Till date, 56,017 cases have been confirmed 43,998 have been discharged and 1,076 deaths recorded in 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory.
