COVID-19: Nigeria records 197 new cases, total now 55,829
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Thursday confirmed 197 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 55,829.
Data from the health agency reveals that 200 patients were successfully treated and discharged while 5 new deaths were recorded pushing the nations death toll to 1,075.
The 197 new cases are reported from 12 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Plateau tops the list with 83 new infections followed by Lagos -48.
Other states with new infections include Kaduna -17, FCT -16, Ogun -11, Katsina -7, Imo -4, Edo -3, Nasarawa -3, Rivers -2, Bayelsa -1, Oyo -1 and Osun -1
Till date, 55829 cases have been confirmed, 43810 cases have been discharged and 1075 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
