COVID-19: Nigeria records 213 new cases, as infections exceed 58,000

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 213 new cases of COVID-19 bringing total number of infections in the country to 58,062.

The health agency (NCDC) made this known via its official twitter handle on Friday night.

 

Data from the NCDC shows that 508 patients were successfully treated and discharged while 2 fatalities were recorded pushing the nation’s death toll to 1,103.

The 213 new cases are reported from 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epic centre of the virus in the country reported 51 new cases followed by Plateau -51 and FCT -29.

Other states with new infections include Rivers -18, Ondo -12, Oyo -9, Osun -8, Gombe -7, Ogun -7, Kaduna -5, Enugu -4, Edo -3, Jigawa -3, Kano -3, Benue -1, Delta -1 and Sokoto -1.

Till date, 58,062 cases have been confirmed, 49,606 cases have been discharged and 1,103 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
