COVID-19: Nigeria records 295 new cases, total now 205,047

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 295 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 205,047.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Tuesday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 317 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 6 new COVID-19 related death was recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,695.

The 295 new cases are reported from 19 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

FCT topped the day’s infections chart with 81 new cases followed by Gombe-43 and Osun-32.

Other states with new cases include Kaduna-25, Rivers-20, Delta-17, Edo-14, Ogun-11, Oyo-9, Plateau-9, Akwa Ibom-7, Bayelsa-7, Zamfara-6, Kano-4, Ondo-3, Abia-2, Nasarawa-2, Benue-1, Ekiti-1 and Niger-1.

Till date, 205,047 cases have been confirmed, 193,260 cases have been discharged and 2,695 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
