COVID-19: Nigeria records 324 new cases, total now 68,627

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 324 new COVID-19 cases, bringing total number of infections in the country to 68,627.

The NCDC made this known via its official website on Friday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 176 coronavirus patients who were successfully treated in some of the isolation centres were discharged after receiving their second negative result increasing the total number of discharged patient in the nation to 64,467.

The 324 new cases are reported from 10 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country recorded 115 new infections closely followed by FCT -110 and Kaduna -57.

Other states with new cases include Taraba -9, Akwa Ibom -8, Plateau -6, Bauchi -4, Ekiti -4, Kano-4, Katsina -4 and Rivers -3.

Till date, 68,627 cases have been confirmed, 64,467 cases have been discharged and 1,179 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
