COVID-19: Nigeria records 466 new cases, total now 198,239
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 466 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 198,239.
The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Friday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 183 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 3 new COVID-19 related death were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,588.
The 466 new cases are reported from 12 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 134 new cases followed by Rivers 82 and Edo -69.
Other states with new cases include Gombe-39, FCT-32, Kaduna-21, Plateau-20, Benue-19, Kwara-17, Delta-16, Akwa Ibom-10, Bayelsa-5 and Kano-2.
Till date, 198,239 cases have been confirmed, 185,780 cases have been discharged and 2,588 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
