COVID-19: Nigeria records 547 new cases, total now 198,786

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 547 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 198, 786.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Saturday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 295 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 2 new COVID-19 related death were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,590.

The 466 new cases are reported from 15 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 110 new cases followed by Oyo-72, Rivers-56 and Anambra-50.

Other states with new cases include Osun-49, Delta-48, FCT-42, Ekiti-29, Akwa Ibom-26, Abia-19, Kano-16, Edo-10, Benue-7, Ogun-6, Kaduna-5 and Bayelsa-2.

Till date, 198,786 cases have been confirmed, 186,075 cases have been discharged and 2,590 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
