COVID-19: Nigeria records 8 new cases, total now 253,978
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 47 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 253,978.
The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Saturday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 6 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 1 new COVID-19 related death was recorded increasing the nations death toll from the virus to 3,141
The 8 new cases are reported from 2 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
FCT topped the day’s infections chart with 4 new cases followed by Rivers -3 and Kaduna -1.
Till date, 253,978 have been confirmed 230,323 cases have been discharged and 3,141 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
