COVID-19: Nigeria records 90 new cases, as total hits 56,478

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday confirmed 90 new COVID-19 cases, bringing total number of infections in the country to 56,478.

The health agency (NCDC) made this known via its twitter handle.

Data from the NCDC shows that 93 patients were successfully treated and discharged while 5 fatalities were recorded on Tuesday pushing the nation’s death toll to 1,088.

The 90 new cases are reported from 7 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epic centre of the virus in Nigeria recorded 33 new cases followed by Plateau -27 and Kaduna -17,

Other states with new cases include Ogun -6, FCT -4, Anambra -1, Ekiti -1, Nasarawa 1

The public health agency said it had conducted 443,987 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the pandemic was announced.

Till date, 56478 cases have been confirmed, 44430 cases have been discharged and 1088 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
