COVID-19: Nigeria records 920 new cases, as total hits 77,933

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 920 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 77,933.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle on Saturday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 300 coronavirus patients who have been successfully treated in some of the isolation centres were discharged after receiving their second negative result while 6 new deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 1,218.

The 920 new cases are reported from 17 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country recorded 308 new cases followed by FCT -207 and Kaduna -179.

Other states with new infections include Plateau -46, Niger -43, Adamawa -26, Sokoto -18, Rivers -16, Yobe -15, Enugu -13, Kano -13, Ogun -12, Delta -10, Edo -5, Osun -3, Oyo -3, Anambra -2, and Ekiti -1

Till date, 77,933 cases have been confirmed, 67,784 cases have been discharged and 1,218 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
