FG orders reopening of schools for exit classes

The Federal Government has ordered secondary schools in the country to reopen from August 4th 2020, for exit classes only.

This was disclosed at the end of a virtual consultative meeting between the major stakeholders in the education sector.

It was agreed that students in the final year classes should resume immediately after the Sallah break from the 4th of August to enable them prepare for the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) due to start on August 17.

The meeting also resolved that a passionate appeal should be made to the Federal Government through the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 and public spirited Nigerians for assistance to schools across the country to enable them fast track the preparations for  safe reopening, as agreed.
