Ogun community fails to witness power supply for twelve years

The community of Emulu in Odeda local government area of Ogun state has cried out for help to well-meaning individuals, government and organizations over lack of power supply, deplorable road network and lack of support to the farmers.

The village head, Suraju Abiodun told Southwest Echoes correspondent in Odeda that for decades, the communities has been suffering from neglect in the hands of successive government.

According to him, Emulu is now more of an isolated village, suffering from neglect as no one seems to be aware of their existence.

"The deplorable condition of the road network has made us suffer huge loses as majority of our farm produce rots away in our farms and in some cases when we manage to get buyers for our farm produce, we sell at ridiculous rate for us to minimize lose incurred" he said

Corroborating the village head, a farmer simply identified as Baba jacob said since he has been cultivating the lands in the village for farming processes he has never received any farm input from any government either local or state.

"Going through all this difficulty just to put food on the table for my family has not been easy".

Meanwhile the government can assist us by subsidizing fertilizer and other farm inputs for us because we also contribute our quota to food security in the state."

"If the government could help us grade our road from Osiele down to Obafe and from Odeda to our village here, it will open up all the villages around this axis to new market." 

Similarly, fuel subsidy removal has affected us negatively the money we now spend on buying petrol to fuel our grinder has increased exhorbitantly and it is already taking its toll on our income. That's why we are appealing to the government help us fix our electricity supply.

"We have a working transformer in this village but one heavy rain that fell over 12 years ago put us into darkness.
