Osun first lady bags NYC ambassador for pad a girl project
Osun Youth under the leadership of Nigerian Youth Congress, Osun state chapter decorates First lady of the state, Her Excellency Erelu Ngozi Adeleke as Ambassador for Pad A Girl Project, and Launched "Educate A Child, Save A Future" project during this year international youth day celebration.
The program which was tagged "Rethink" held in Commemoration of this Year international youth day celebration with the theme Green Skill for Youth, towards a sustainable world.
Chief Mrs Erelu Ngozi Adeleke Tumps Support for THE EDUCATE A CHILD, SAVE A FUTURE initiative of the Osun youth under the auspices of the Nigerian Youth Congress, whose objective is to reduce the out of school children, improve primary Education thereby increasing literacy rate while supporting the Osun State Government in the area of Education development.
Earlier before the Launching, Her Excellency had been decorated as the Nigerian Youth Congress's Ambassador for PAD A GIRL PROJECT, the project which is aimed at educating and supporting the girl child on menstural hygiene in underserved communities.
Speaking during the event, The State Chairman of the NYC Comrade Akinbode Olakolupo Eulogised The Support of The Wife of the Governor, Osun House Of Assembly, Osun State Government, stakeholders and all youths in the state for making the summit a success. He further urged the newly inaugurated Director of education, Comrade Stephen Okeowo to collaborate with education stakeholders in the State to ensure better policy and advocacy that can promote resource allocation to the education initiatives in the state.
In a release issued by the director of media and information Comrade Joseph Oyelami, described the massive turnout of the youths and all stakeholders, especially the Osun state government supporting the goal of the Nigeria youth congress, maintaining that all hands must be on desk to bring out good results especially doing all things to move the state forward, therefore appealing to youths in the state to always push forward and be good representative, adding that youths are now the leaders of today.
Also in attendance was Mrs Olusola Adewusi, wife of the Deputy Governor who made donations toward the ‘Educate a Child Initiative’, supported by Princess Monsurat Egbedun, the wife of Osun State Speaker, Alhaja Balikis Akinleye, wife of the Chief of Staff, Honourable Adeyemi Adewunmi Irekandu representing Obokun local Government in the State House, wives of Commissioners and wives of Honourable members in the Osun State House of Assembly.
Speaking during the event, Chief Mrs Erelu Ngozi Adeleke empahsized the present need for innovative solutions to global challenge, encouraging the youth to challenge conventional thinking, question established norms, and envision a future that prioritizes sustainability, inclusivity, and development.
According To her, adopting fresh strategies and approaches, young minds can channel their creativity and potential into becoming impactful change-makers, thus reshaping our world.
While speaking on the project, The First Lady reiterated the importance of education development, adding that great love for the children is paramount to her and this is the best way to save the future of the nation.
Erelu Ngozi Adeleke also recognized the unwavering commitment of Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, to the growth and development of the youth, his steadfast support for youth-focused initiatives underscores his understanding of the pivotal role that young people play in shaping a brighter future.
As the mother of the day at the youth Conference, Erelu Ngozi Adeleke expressed her enthusiasm for witnessing the convergence of enthusiastic Nigerian youths alongside distinguished figures from diverse backgrounds. She calls for collective efforts to inspire and empower the youth, guiding them towards meaningful engagement, responsible leadership, and sustainable progress.
Speaking at the summit, the lawmaker representing Oriade, Honourable Adewumi Irekandu disclosed that the assembly in the state is already working on the laws that guide the youths and will come out with something great.
In Royal attendance were The Ataoja Of Osogbo who was well represented, The Royal Patron of the Osun State NYC, Oba Dr. Micheal Ajayi Arowotawa II, The Elerinmo of Erinmo Ijesa and other dignitaries like Ambassador Olajide Osiberu who was the guest speaker for the event and the Secretary of the Osun State Youth Advisory Council, Barrister Opeyemi Oladunjoye.
