No plans to dethrone Ladoja - Oyo Govt

Oyo State Government Sunday, declared that Governor Seyi Makinde is not planning to dethrone the Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Rashidi Ladoja as claimed by a former governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose.

The Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade while responding to Mr Fayose’s claim, disclosed that the state government has never contemplated, discussed or planned an action on Oba Ladoja

Prince Oyelade emphasized that at present, Nigerians should know who and what to believe especially when the information comes from a particular quarter.

“By now, Nigerians know who and what to believe especially when the information comes from a particular quarter. Oyo State Government has never contemplated, discussed or planned such an action”, he said.

“There has to be a credible motive for every government action and this, coming from the unofficial spokesman of our opponents is better put in the refuse dump where it belongs” Oyelade added.

“Desperate politics foists thoughless propaganda and reduces democracy into joke”.

The media aide to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Ladoja, Chief Adeola Oloko in his response, described the statement credited to Mr Fayose as unfounded and baseless rumour.

He stressed that there is no rift between Governor Makinde and Kabiyesi to warrant such moves as alleged by Mr Ayodele Fayose

“It will be most unfortunate, if it is not a rumour.I dont see cause of friction between Governor Makinde and Olubadan of Ibadanland”, he said.

Ayo Fayose, a former Governor of Ekiti State, had earlier taken to his X handle (formerly twitter) to allege that Governor Seyi Makinde is plotting to remove Ladoja as Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Mr Fayose wrote on his X handle that Oba Ladoja would be issued query for not attending the elevation ceremony of High Chief Sharafadeen Ali to the status of Obas in Ibadan last week.
