The People’s Democratic Party in Ondo State has accused the state government of being insensitive to the security challenges and the welfare of the people of the state.
The opposition party said Governor Rotimi Akeredolu had been encouraging the influx of Fulani herdsmen into the state.

Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) at the weekend rated the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) the best in the Southwest.

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, is working to make solar energy accessible to no fewer than two million households in the state, the Managing Partner, Global Head of Business, Triton Solar, Mr Bhagi Sandilya, has said.

He stated that solar energy would revolutionise the economy of Oyo State in particular and Nigeria in general. He added that the governor had indicated commitment to industrial, economic and social development in the state through solar energy revolution.

The Honourable Minister of Works and housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola has said that the the Apapa -Oshodi - Oworonsoki- Ojota highway will be completed in the next 12 months.
Fashola announced that the reconstruction of the road would be completed by the end of 2020 while inspecting the project with the President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote.

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reiterated his commitment to building a 8,272- room boarding facility for the Lagos State University.

The governor said the boarding facility would be built through a Public Private Partnership agreement, adding that it was aimed at transforming the state-owned varsity into “a residential institution, thereby enhancing quality of teaching and learning.”
Sanwo -Olu said this in his New Year message on Wednesday. He said he was also committed to addressing the difficulty being experienced by Lagosians on the road to and from work on a daily basis.

Inhabitants of Iwaro/Oka Akoko in Akoko Southwest Local Area of Ondo State on Saturday trooped out in their numbers to protest what they called incessant killings by heavy-duty vehicles. 

The protesters, who carried placards with various inscriptions like,”Don’t turn our community into ghost town”, “Our lives matter,no solution, no Peace”, we are tired of accidents on Akungba/Oka Road”.

Engr. 'Seyi Makinde, the executive Governor of Oyo State has asked the people of the state to join hands with his Government to make the State greater.

Oyo state chapter of the Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN), has decried the recent declaration by the state governor, Seyi Makinde that the payment of the registration fees for students who are to write the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), was not part of the regime of free education policy.

Makinde, through his Commissioner for Education, Daud Shangodoyin, had recently declared that payment of WAEC fees was not part of his free education policy.
